Follow Ups

If you signed up for the newsletter or paid attention to Pedalshift socials last week, yes I screwed up and promo’d the best of… for next month! Hope you enjoyed the best of on hiking traditions we should adopt in bike touring… next month is the Erie Canal!

C&O update… more rain, more flooding! We had some drier weather that has (by many reports I’m seeing) improved the trail conditions, but…. we have Hurricane Michael possibly rumbling up through here later this week. Duuuuude! Poor trail can’t catch a break, but people are still getting through with some road detours and shuttles.

FOTS Preston Paige Piper has assembled what appears to me to be the most comprehensive road detour list of the trail… he was kind enough to allow me to share it with all of you, so check it out at the Pedalshift C&O guide. Many of these roads aren’t exactly full of drivers used to seeing cyclists, so Preston underscores these routes are “use at your own risk.”
