Oregon Coast Loop

The Pedalshift Project 133: Oregon Coast Loop, Chapter 3

This trip was kind of like climbing a mountain… you get to the goal, but then you have to turn around and go back. The California border is within reach, but will this nutty transit-aided return work?

Oregon coast loop, chapter 3:
(Port Orford, Oregon to the California Border… and back to Portland)

Most of the Journal speaks for itself, but from time to time I might jump in and give some additional context on top of or around the stuff I recorded in the field.

This is the penultimate chapter of the Oregon Coast Loop… I’ll have another pod come out as a coda to the trip, talking about my takeaways and more over Labor Day weekend. Then it’s a best of the week after!

  • New idea for future show… best bang for the buck foods calorie-wise
  • Finally… a tailwind!
  • No sticky bun, but The Dandy Warhols 13 tails (AND I got retweeted by them!)
  • Unloaded at camp
  • Winds shifted around so weirdly
  • Made it to the border and wanted to keep going, but… turned it around
  • Frozen veggies keep your beers cold
  • Audible #1 called – went all the way to Honeyman from North Bend
  • Shoulder size NoBo much, much worse
  • Audible #2 called – gave Airbnb to a fellow NoBo’er and bussed up to Pac City
  • Another crying kid – what is it with this trip?
