Annalisa van den Burgh has crossed the country by bicycle twice and has started a new project called Work From Bike. We chat about working while on bike tour, her touring adventures, touring with Type 1 Diabetes and much more.

Opening thoughts
- Live show! 2/20 8pm ET (sorry Europe)
- Watch me talk into a mic for an episode of the Pedalshift Project!
- We’ll do a little pre and post show banter in the chat room too.
- No need to be on social media for this, although it will end up there too.
- Video will be up right away, audio will be in the feed as a pod just like normal
- Go to pedalshift.net/live for more details.
- If this works out, I’m looking to do this more frequently… so, fingers crossed!

My question list…
I always love talking with people who’ve crossed the US by bike and you’ve done it twice, for different reasons. Can you tell us your origin story for bike touring?
In the article I read about you, I loved your use of the term trail family because I think it encapsulates so much of the goodwill and hospitality I experience on the road. What’s a favorite bit of trail family interaction you’ve had on the road?
Do you prefer riding solo or in groups?
What was the first thing you shipped home on your 1st cross country trip and what’s the essential piece of gear you’ve kept for both?
What’s it like managing T1D on tour? Do you think being dialed in more to your glucose levels all the time paradoxically helps you on the road?
You’ve launched a new venture WFB (work from bike)… what are some strategies you have for working while on bike tour?
What are some podcast recs for listening on tour? If you mix in any music, what’s on a typical playlist?
