Beginner Series: Group Dynamics on Bike Tour
Questions covered
-
With just a couple people on a tour I’m guessing the “rules of engagement” can be generally worked out along the way. With a larger group (currently 8), do you need to have a set of rules/guidelines defined beforehand?
-
Our group will have a wide range of athletic prowess. How do you balance things out so people on the extremes aren’t a) left in the dust, or b) super bored/annoyed? What if someone feels like they can’t go on and have to drop out?
-
Who rides first? Do you rotate randomly? Have a schedule of some sort? Does it matter?
-
How spread out should you be during the day?
-
Any specific concerns when riding in a group with no SAG support?
-
Planning meals & sleeping arrangements for a group?
