Central Florida has a thousand personalities. Sure, we all know the theme parks, and the big cities of Tampa and Orlando, but there are also huge swaths of barely developed pastures, orange groves, irrigation canals and lakes to catch a cyclists’ eye while pedaling the miles away. A lot of people come to Florida to escape the chill of winter and return with stories and surprises. This tour was no different! Pedalshift Tour Journals Vol. 13 : Cross-Florida Bike Tour, Part 1 begins with some pre-tour banter in DC and continues through the first day’s ride from Tampa to Lakeland, Florida.

Apologies for the show being late… one of the things I brought back with me from Florida was a nasty, nasty virus that has killed my voice. We’re going to split up the tour into three episodes that are all going to come out between now and the live show wrapup episode on the 22nd. Each episode will cover a day of the ride. Look for Part 2 in the next few days and Part 3 at the usual 7am Thursday slot!
